Job Summary
Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician's orders, consulting on therapy effectiveness and acting as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing. Manage duties assigned within the NICU on a rotating basis, utilizing appropriate respiratory care devices while meeting state licensure requirements. Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist credential and consider Certified Respiratory Therapists for this full-time, 36-hour day shift role at Mercy South.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program
- Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required
- Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
- Pinch up to 10 lbs
- Kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
Desired Qualifications
- Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Prefer critical care experience
