Job Summary
Administer and manage respiratory care per physician orders while functioning as a workgroup leader and unit coordinator. Develop, evaluate, and modify patient care plans by collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians. Serve as a respiratory consultant to all hospital service lines, attend daily patient rounds, and participate in Rapid Response and Resuscitation Teams. Maintain certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP while facilitating quality improvement projects and patient education. Prioritize triage during high acuity situations and perform routine equipment maintenance and patient transports.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor or ACLS-P - ACLS-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
- PALS - Pediatric Adv Life Support or ARC-PALS - Amer Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS-I - PALS - Instructor or PALS-P - PALS-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program or ARC-NALS - Amer Red Cross Neonatal Advanced Life Support or NRP-I - NRP - Instructor or NRP-P - NRP-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
- NBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
- RCP - Respiratory Care Prof
- Current Georgia Respiratory Care Professional
- Minimum 2 years Critical Care
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with other health care providers in the provision of patient care
- Ability to delegate to other team members as required
- Ability to multi-task essential
- Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations essential
- Strong detail orientation required
- Knowledge of surgical procedures required
- Basic computer skills are required
- Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in-writing
