Job Summary
Manage therapeutic and diagnostic regimes including mechanical ventilator support, artificial airway insertion, bronchopulmonary hygiene, and pharmacological agents related to respiratory care. Perform test and studies of the cardiopulmonary system, obtain physiological specimens, and interpret data while maintaining appropriate documentation in written and MIS formats. Set up, monitor, and adjust patient/ventilator systems; provide aerosolized medication and administer drugs safely per policy. Insert and manage endotracheal tubes and vascular access devices after completing designated training. Receive and record verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners. Requires Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, Wisconsin licensure, current BLS/CPR and NRP certifications, and National Board registry credential.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in: Respiratory Therapy
- Licensure to be eligible to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the State of Wisconsin
- Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire
- Current NRP certification or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care or eligible to sit for the registry exam
- Registry Credential must be completed within 12 months of hire date
- Graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Care
- Ability to read, write, hear, speak, and comprehend the English language
