Job Summary
Inpatient Respiratory Therapist role at Exalt Health in Auburndale, FL. Provide specialized diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care within an acute rehabilitation hospital, including assessments, oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, ventilator management, airway clearance, and education. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehab professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at restoring optimal respiratory function and quality of life. Responsibilities include comprehensive respiratory assessments, interpretation of blood gas results, documenting treatment plans and progress, ensuring proper operation of respiratory equipment, and maintaining accurate records. Requires NBRC RRT credential, active RCP license in the practicing state, and BLS certification; ACLS certification required or preferred depending on location. PRN inpatient position emphasizing dedicated patient care and multidisciplinary teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current, unencumbered license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the state where currently practicing
- Current BLS required via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current ACLS required via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred, but required in AZ
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care or inpatient rehabilitation setting preferred
- Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management
