Job Summary
Provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians according to hospital policy and procedures. Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment, monitoring physiological responses with special attention to pediatric and neonatal patients. Document treatment, equipment maintenance, and quality control activities while communicating treatment details clearly to patients and families. Offer patient and staff education on care plans. This role includes evening and overnight shifts, weekend coverage, and options for full-time or PRN 8- and 12-hour shifts. Candidates must hold an RRT credential, Illinois licensure, and current CPR certification. Endeavor Health serves over 4.2 million residents across six northeast Illinois counties through its eight acute care hospitals.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status
- State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment
- Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
