Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist in the Emergency Department at UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion (Aurora, CO) on the Night shift, full-time. Provides direct patient care in a technologically complex clinical setting, utilizing respiratory therapy protocols to promote optimal care. Manages ventilator integration and airway management across multiple levels of care; collaborates with a multidisciplinary team; supports clinical growth through internal ladders and precepting those new to healthcare. Roles include applying evidence-based practice, maintaining safety and quality at the point of care, and contributing to team education. Requires graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, NBRC RRT credential, and active state licensure; NRP within 1 year if NICU assignment and PALS within 1 year if ED assignment; BLS/CPR card in-hand before start and valid through 60 days after hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC
- State licensure
- NRP obtained within 1 year if assigned to NICU; tracked on unit
- PALS within 1 year if assigned to ED; tracked on unit
- BLS through AHA or Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer; card in-hand before start date; BLS/CPR card valid through sixty days of hire
