Respiratory Therapist Days (Full-Time)

Job Summary
Deliver a full range of respiratory therapy care for children, teens, and young adults within the inpatient services, pediatric rehabilitation, and long-term complex medical units. Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records per respiratory therapy standards and ChildServe policies. Communicate effectively with children, families, physicians, and staff to assess and meet assigned care needs. Stay current with unit and ChildServe-specific information and provide respiratory training to children, families, and staff. Demonstrate good stewardship of equipment, supplies, and the environment. Full-time schedule with three shifts per week (6am-6pm), every third weekend. Requires current respiratory therapy licensure in Iowa, CPR/BLS certification, ventilator experience, and pediatric experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Certification from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Current licensure to practice in the state of Iowa
- Documentation of current CPR/BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Ventilator experience
- Pediatric experience
- PALS certification
- Experience with tracheostomy care and changes
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Ability to be mobile within the assigned work area
- Ability to frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand
- Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
Desired Qualifications
- Pediatric experience preferred
- PALS certification preferred
- Experience with tracheostomy care and changes preferred
