Job Summary

Administer respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and chest physiotherapy based on physician orders and protocols. Conduct patient assessments, monitor responses to respiratory treatments, and implement individualized treatment plans to support patient recovery. Manage ventilator settings and airway maintenance while ensuring optimal patient comfort and safety. Accurately implement written or verbal physician orders, administer medications as prescribed, and provide clear documentation of all treatments and assessments. Demonstrate skill in emergency situations to stabilize patients and collaborate with healthcare teams. Ensure adherence to patient identification, safety measures, and infection control standards. Maintain regular attendance and comply with all organizational policies and regulatory standards.

  • CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation
  • STABLE - Neonatal Certification
  • Alabama: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • Florida: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certifications
  • Georgia: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • Georgia: Successful completion of assigned SAMA course
  • Indiana: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certifications
  • Indiana: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Indiana: Successful completion of assigned SAMA course
  • Indiana: STABLE certification
  • Mississippi: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • North Carolina: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • New Mexico: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • Pennsylvania: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • Texas: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • Texas: Successful completion of assigned SAMA course
  • Texas: STABLE certification for NICU therapists

Desired Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or clinical setting
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient in administering pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic respiratory procedures
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare teams, patients, and families
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skilled in patient assessment, ventilator management, and airway maintenance
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Competent in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation and reporting
