Respiratory Therapist

Conduct cardiopulmonary care for patients with breathing issues by administering breathing techniques, nebulizer treatments, ventilator management, and oxygen therapies. Manage diverse patient needs through keen assessment and critical thinking to develop effective care plans, ensuring calm intervention in routine and emergent situations. Interview patients and family members to obtain health and psychosocial history, while reading prescriptions and reviewing patient information to guide therapy. Observe, inspect, and test respiratory equipment, then clean, disinfect, and sterilize devices. Set up and operate mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators. Work as a casual part-time Respiratory Therapist with an Oregon license and AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications at CHI Mercy Health.
