Job Summary
Deliver respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, manage artificial ventilation, analyze and report arterial blood gases and EKGs, and assist with changing artificial airways as ordered by a physician. Review and document all clinical information while educating patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans. Maintain professional certifications and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (only for trained therapists working in the NICU)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals

- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds of force frequently
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds of force constantly
- Must be able to move objects
- Must be able to work in an area where patients enter
- Must be able to work directly with patients
- Must be able to work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
- Must be able to work with hazardous medications or hazardous waste
- Must be able to comply with all federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements
