Job Summary
Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments including breath sounds, airway patency, and ventilator parameters. Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy treatments. Initiate, monitor, and manage mechanical ventilation support while assisting with airway management and patient transport. Respond to emergent respiratory and airway situations, including resuscitation events, and maintain accurate documentation of all care provided. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes in a high-acuity trauma setting. Requires current RRT and Florida license, six months acute care experience, and advanced cardiac and pediatric life support certifications. Full-time night shift rotation with weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a two-year AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associate degree or equivalent)
- Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Florida State Respiratory Care license
- Minimum of six months recent acute care RRT experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Strong critical care skills
- Ability to function in a high-acuity trauma setting
- Night shifts
- Rotating weekends
