Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for providing all modes of respiratory care and diagnostics in Critical Care, Medical/Surgical units, and specialty departments as ordered by physicians. Essential duties include performing technical practice such as ventilator management and blood gas analysis, assessing patients for needed respiratory services, administering medications, educating patients and families, and coordinating care with a healthcare team. Candidates must hold an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program licensure and be proficient in leadership, communication, and patient care practices.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
- Graduate of JRCRTE approved respiratory care program with minimum of three (3) to six (6) months of clinical rotations
- Strong leadership ability and good organizational skills
- Independent and critical thinking skills
- Sound judgment
- Strong communication skills
- Basic Math and Keyboard Proficiency
- Functional Skills on PC and Related Software (Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of basic Office Equipment
- Strong time management
- Ability to communicate with all members of the health care team
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
Desired Qualifications
- Critical Care Experience
- ACLS
- Experience in Pulmonary Function testing, bronchoscopies, blood gas analysis, and neonatal mechanical ventilation
- Neonatal resuscitation course
- PALS
- One to two years prior experience in a long-term care facility
