Job Summary
Support the Pulmonology, Asthma/Allergy, and Primary Care services by performing pulmonary function tests, respiratory evaluations, treatments, and education in an ambulatory setting. Provide high-level expertise in respiratory care equipment and procedures while assisting in the development of continuous quality improvement standards. Communicate professionally with providers and patients to ensure positive care experiences and participate in essential clinic and research activities. This role requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 3-5 years of experience, based onsite at a Children's Mercy location in Kansas City.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- 3-5 years experience in pulmonary function setting
- Associate's Degree In Respiratory Therapy
- 3-5 years experience
- 3 years prior work experience in the same job
- Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist MO
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist KS
- Seasonal influenza vaccine
- Willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella)
- Evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005
- Supply of immunization records as proof of vaccination
- Medical and/or religious exemptions discussion with Human Resources
- This position is not eligible to work remotely
- Required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations
- Must not work from home
- Drug screen will be performed upon hire
- Smoke and tobacco free
Desired Qualifications
- CPFT/RPFT (Certified/Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist)
- AE-C Certified Asthma Educator
