Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist (RT Vent Field Clinician) provides respiratory patient care to Vent patients across alternate sites in accordance with AdaptHealth policies. RESPONSIBILITIES include reviewing Plans of Treatments and Care Plans, documenting procedures and patient responses, assisting with Ventilator referrals and discharge planning, ensuring PPE and infection-control compliance, educating patients and clinicians, and communicating with referral sources, physicians, and teams. Requires competency in ventilator management and oxygen therapy, strong documentation and communication skills, and the ability to work with home-care settings. Education and licensure requirements include an AMA-approved associates program in respiratory care, an active RT license in all serviced states, CPR certification, and a minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience; a valid driver’s license is also required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of regulatory guidelines (Medicare/Medicaid) are preferred. The role involves on-call responsibilities and travel within the service area, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree from an AMA approved respiratory program
- Valid and unrestricted RT clinical license in all states serviced by the branch
- CPR certification
- One (1) year of clinical experience as a Health Care RT, HME RT or clinical nursing with Vent experience
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
