Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support in field/in-office setting delivering specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home/alternate care settings. Responsibilities include clinical assessments, reviewing ventilator patient records, care plans and approvals with physicians; discharge planning for transitions to home; instructing patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on ventilator units and equipment use; providing clinical follow up with physicians/referral sources; conducting in-services for hospital staff and other professionals; adherence to HIPAA, PPE, infection control and hazardous materials handling; accurate documentation of all patient care activities; maintain records including prescriptions and care/treatment plans; contribute to quality tracking, data trending and regulatory compliance; participate in continuing education and program development; act as clinical resource within interdisciplinary teams; ensure clear verbal and written communication; participate in on-call rotation; complete compliance training; perform other related duties as assigned; required experience includes ventilator management, oxygen therapy, strong clinical assessment, good communication, and ability to adapt in fast-paced healthcare environments.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program
- One (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist
- Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch
- CPR certification
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
Additional Requirements
- Clinical roles require valid licensure/certification, where applicable
- In accordance with Florida law, background screening where applicable
