Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist 2 needed for PRN (part-time) at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. Responsibilities include establishing and managing basic to advanced mechanical ventilation with common ventilators and devices (e.g., HFO, NPPV, PRVC, transport), performing weaning as ordered, reviewing ongoing ventilator needs with high proficiency, developing/refining ventilator care plans, and administering advanced respiratory therapies (e.g., heliox, nitric oxide, CNB, Chest Wall Oscillation) with supervision as required. Requirements include graduating from an accredited CoARC respiratory care program, six months in a critical care environment or related training, NBRC-registered (RRT) or substantial experience, advanced certifications (ACLS/PALS/NRP) with attainment within one year of hire, BLS from AHA on start, Virginia licensure to practice, and willingness to obtain required certifications within one year. Retirement benefits include company matching of 5% starting on day one. The role is part-time and located in Fairfax, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory care program
- Six months in a critical care environment or one or more years of specialized training in advanced diagnostics/pulmonary rehabilitation as a practicing Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or more than 10 years of experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist as defined by NBRC; Advanced Certifications (ACLS, PALS or NRP) or must obtain within one year from date of hire
- Basic Life Support from AHA upon start
- Advanced Certifications (ACLS, PALS or NRP) must be obtained within one year from date of hire
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
