Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivering respiratory therapies in an acute care setting: administer treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management), manage ventilators (BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow systems), perform ABGs and PFTs, develop and implement patient-specific care plans, document in the EMR, respond to code blue and rapid response events, and may serve as Lead RCP during shifts. Location: Chicago Metro Area, IL; full-time, non-exempt; relocation assistance available for candidates relocating from outside Illinois. Requirements include RCP license, NBRC RRT, BCLS, ACLS within 60 days, NRP/PALS preferred, and an associate or BS degree preferred; salary range approx. $37.00–$49.80/hour with 36-hour shifts (3x12s). Responsibilities emphasize high-acuity, critical care environment, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and potential leadership during shifts.
Required Qualifications
- State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from NBRC
- 2 years experience as an RCP preferred
- ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
- NRP certificate preferred
- PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
