Job Summary
The Respiratory Technician administers diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures to facilitate patient breathing. Responsibilities include preparing for treatment, following physician orders, determining treatment requirements, delivering therapies (MDI, nebulization, posture drainage, positive pressure breathing, mechanical ventilation, oxygen and aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry), monitoring and documenting patient responses, communicating findings to physicians and nursing staff, assisting with trauma/bronchoscopy/critical care transports, providing neonatal respiratory care, performing invasive procedures such as suctioning and arterial blood gas sampling, and evaluating and updating care plans with physicians. Maintains equipment, performs quality controls, and adheres to safety/quality standards as part of a High Reliability Organization (HRO). The role requires safety-focused, patient-centered care within the pulmonary services department; shift schedules are variable.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED (Required)
- CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - American Red Cross
- Enrolled in Accredited Respiratory Care Program
- Ohio Limited Permit or Ohio License
- CPR Certification
