Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapy Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic testing, stocking supplies, maintaining and cleaning respiratory equipment, performing EKGs, and assisting Respiratory Therapists. Additional duties include Holter and Event Monitor application, O2 tank rounds, stocking and cleaning respiratory supply areas, billing responsibilities, N95 fit testing, and supporting medical codes as needed. The role requires enrollment in a respiratory therapy program, completion of CPR/HOPE within six months, a basic arrhythmia course within six months, and obtaining the state licensure from the Ohio Medical Board before expiration of the Limited License. Exertion involves lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently; college coursework in the medical field is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
- Must currently be enrolled in a respiratory therapy program
- CPR/When Seconds Count/HOPE within the first six months of employment
- Basic Arrhythmia course within 6 months of employment
- Must obtain Respiratory Care Professional Licensure from the state of Ohio Medical Board prior to the expiration of Respiratory Therapy Technician Limited License
- College Coursework in the medical field preferred
