Respiratory Specialist

Job Summary
Perform respiratory care in all patient care settings, including blood draws, splinting, wound care, vitals, and EKGs at the emergency department. Manage advanced ventilators, perform first-line adult or neonatal intubations, and transport newborns while acting as a preceptor for residents, nurses, and students. Maintain proficiency in the Respiratory Evaluation Protocol Program and recommend specialized clinical procedures to diagnose, treat, and improve patient situations. Complete all necessary documentation, update work lists, and submit charges by the end of the shift. Maintain at least one intubation per quarter with a 90% success rate. This part-time night role rotates weekends and holidays at Bethesda Arrow Springs Emergency, a trauma center recognized for excellence in cardiac care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
- ACLS if performing intubations
- NBRC registry or RRT
- RCP licensure in Ohio
- 3-4 years experience in a related field
- Must do at least one intubation per quarter
- Must maintain a total of six intubations per year
- Must maintain a 90% success rate over a year period
