Job Summary
Respiratory Practitioner II provides comprehensive respiratory care across neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients, serving as a key clinician in Level IV NICU, PICU/PCVICU, and Adult ICU. The role involves advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, invasive and noninvasive ventilation, airway management, nitric oxide and specialty gas therapies, and autonomous use of therapist-driven protocols. Duties include ABGs, pulmonary diagnostics, bronchial hygiene, responding to rapid response and code events, ongoing education and competency validation, equipment maintenance, and education/consultation to physicians, nurses, patients, and families. The position strengthens collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and supports a culture of patient-centered care, safety, and employee engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Colorado Respiratory Therapy license (obtained prior to start date)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (or obtained within specified timeframe)
- Graduate of AMA accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
- Experience in ICU, NICU, and/or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
