Job Summary
Administer and manage respiratory treatments including CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen, and nebulizer therapies while conducting assessments and modifying care plans based on clinical findings. Provide complex pulmonary care such as vest therapy and suctioning, educate residents and families on safety protocols, and maintain respiratory equipment. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans, document observations in the electronic medical record, and participate in care conferences. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and assist in developing departmental protocols. This role requires lifting 35 pounds and working in a moderate noise level environment. Reliant Rehabilitation seeks candidates with an Associate degree in nursing and at least two years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- LVN or RN
- Associate degree in nursing from an accredited program
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing role
- Valid Nursing state license
- Proficiency in CPAP/BiPAP, spirometers, oxygen, vest therapy, cough assist, and nebulizers
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards for respiratory nursing care in a SNF setting
- Must be capable of lifting Thirty-five (35) pounds of dead weight alone
- Must be able to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a workday/shift
- Must have visual, auditory, and speaking skills sufficient to assess, communicate, and monitor patient needs
- Must have fine motor skills for legible and accurate writing and keystroking
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a SNF or acute care setting
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
- Basic Internet navigation skills
