Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care to patients across critical care and emergency settings. Responsibilities include initiating and managing IV access, drawing arterial/venous blood gases, assisting with patient positioning and chaperoning physicians, handling airway management and ventilation (invasive and noninvasive), monitoring patient status, responding to emergencies, ensuring infection control and regulatory compliance, and performing duties as assigned. Requires RRT or CRT licensure, associate degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent, and ability to work in high-acuity environments. Schedule is PRN nights (7p–7a), with 1–2 shifts per week, in Yukon, OK; BLS and NBRC certifications required; state licenses for IL, MO, OK, and WI may be applicable depending on location. Education and experience details include preferred 2 years CCU/ER experience and strong clinical/documentation skills.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent critical care experience preferred
- Emergency Room (ER) experience preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in mechanical ventilation, airway management, and critical care respiratory therapies
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-stress, high-acuity clinical environments
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and documentation skills
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent years of experience and education
