Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT

Job Summary
Provide and manage respiratory care for patients with pulmonary disorders by operating and setting up devices including mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration, aerosol generators, and disposable respiratory care products while following treatment parameters. Deliver emergency care such as artificial ventilation and assist with CPR, collect and analyze arterial blood gases, evaluate treatment requirements, monitor patient response, and collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to adjust the plan of care. Requires graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program with licensure in Texas, NBRC credentials (RRT/CRT), and BLS; ACLS within 90 days, with PALS/NRP within 90 days if department requires. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
- Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Medical Board to practice Respiratory Care in the State of Texas
- Current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC OR current credential as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from NBRC BEFORE July 1, 2002 (Grandfathered CRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of employment
- PALS and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) must be obtained within 90 days of employment if required by department
