Respiratory Care Practitioner - RRT, Continuum of Care

Job Summary
Assess patients for treatment frequency and develop care plans based on diagnosis. Deliver respiratory therapy services and prescribed medical equipment according to physician orders and department protocols. Coordinate care plans, evaluate patient progress, and communicate with providers regarding treatment modifications and compliance. Educate patients and caregivers on equipment maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues. Maintain departmental inventory levels for supplies and operate in a constant state of alertness. Requires RRT certification, BLS, and valid driver's license. Monday through Friday 8:30–5 with on-call rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays. 40 weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- On-call rotation required which includes nights, weekends, and holidays
- Monday- Friday 8:30-5
- Proof of motor vehicle liability insurance that meets minimum state requirements upon hire and upon request
- Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication
- Constant standing and walking
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
- Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors
- Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors
- Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs
- Occasional lifting/moving of patients
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements
- Occasional driving
- Rare crawling and running
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Driving Record - Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Driver's License - State of Issuance
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
