Job Summary
Assess patient needs for respiratory therapy through interviews, physical exams, and clinical data review to develop treatment plans. Initiate, conduct, and evaluate therapeutic interventions while performing cardiopulmonary and neurodiagnostic procedures, calculating results, and making critical decisions. Independently provide critical care including invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, airway management, and resuscitation for Code Blue and Rapid Response events. Assist in discharge planning, educate patients on disease management, and perform ABG draws and analysis. Maintain equipment verification, cleaning, calibration, and inventory levels while ensuring accurate documentation and billing. Participate in ICU rounds, tumor boards, and quality safety committees.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist licensed by the Ohio Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Professional
- BLS certification
- Maintains compliance in RQI
- The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the cardiopulmonary department
