Job Summary
Set up and operate respiratory care equipment, perform bedside diagnostics, and deliver therapeutic procedures including oxygen therapy under physician orders. Respond to Code Blue emergencies, participate in interdisciplinary patient care meetings, and maintain accurate patient documentation. Monitor equipment efficacy and complications, manage stock levels of disposables, and assist with decontamination processes. Provide patient and family education while attending required departmental and hospital-wide in-services. Work night shifts with a 0.3 FTE schedule at Salinas Valley Health, serving the Salinas Valley and Monterey Peninsula communities.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an AMA accredited 2-4 year Respiratory Care program
- Graduate from an AMA accredited one year Respiratory Care program
- Must be licensed by the State of California to practice respiratory care
- Must be registered through the National Board of Respiratory Care
- BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support per American Heart Association Standards
- Completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program course of American Academy of Pediatrics and American Heart Association
- Exposure to facets of Respiratory Care modalities in an AMA accredited Respiratory Care program
