Job Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner Residency Program is a 12-week orientation and training for recent graduates to develop pediatric critical care and pediatric acute care skills under supervision, with progression toward a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner Level I. Essential activities include completing mandatory residency instruction, competency checks, simulation-based scenarios, equipment handling, and clinical duties on acute care floors and an ICU, following Joint Commission standards and ongoing education and safety requirements. Eligible candidates must have recently conferred a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care degree, hold CA RCP license, NBRC RRT, BLS, NRP, PALS, and ACLS certifications, and submit a resume, cover letter, two recommendations, and program transcript.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care Program
- Degree conferral within the last year
- Current Respiratory Care Practitioner License (CA)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) NBRC
- BLS, PALS, NRP, ACLS certifications (AHA/AAP)
- RCP program requirements and documentation
- Resume and cover letter indicating reason for applying
- Two signed letters of recommendation
- RCP program transcript
