Respiratory Care Practitioner - NICU (Full-time, Night Shift)

Job Summary
Assess and document prescribed respiratory therapy, administer aerosol and oxygen treatments, and manage ventilator patients while drawing arterial blood gases. Perform pulmonary function tests, drainage procedures, and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, providing education to patients and families regarding disease management. Conduct equipment rounds, maintain ventilator and VAP bundle compliance, and assist physicians with bronchoscopies and specialty procedures. Support department operations by assisting in training, scheduling, and equipment maintenance. This full-time night shift position requires an RCP license and NBRC-RRT or CRT credential, with a salary of $65,000 in San Luis Obispo.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification
- AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS certification
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS certification
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
- Acknowledgement of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential
