Respiratory Care Practitioner - NICU (Full-time, Night Shift)

Job Summary
Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy, administer aerosol and oxygen treatments, and manage ventilator patients while maintaining charts. Perform pulmonary function tests, drainage procedures, and bronchoscopies, ensuring compliance with VAP and ventilator bundles. Draw arterial blood gases, assist in equipment maintenance and stocking, and instruct nursing personnel and patients on disease management. Serve as a clinical resource to physicians regarding safe therapy administration and participate in quality control and staff competency reviews. Work full-time night shifts in a Level III NICU and trauma center, with required certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification
- AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS certification
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS certification
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
- Acknowledgement of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential
