Respiratory Care Practitioner - NICU (Full-time, Night Shift)

Job Summary
Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy, administer aerosol and oxygen treatments, and manage care for ventilator patients. Draw arterial blood gases, perform pulmonary function tests, and execute drainage procedures while maintaining electronic medical records and flow sheets. Assist in department record keeping, train new employees, and instruct nursing personnel on equipment surveillance. Conduct rounds to check respiratory therapy equipment, ensure compliance with ventilator and VAP bundles, and communicate diagnosis updates based on patient status. Provide patient and family education on cardiorespiratory disease, assist physicians with bronchoscopies, and support quality control and staff competency management.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification
- AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS certification
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS certification
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
- Acknowledgement of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential
