Job Summary

Performs basic and critical respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting. Provides aerosol and oxygen therapy, administers care for ventilated patients, draws arterial blood gases, and maintains documentation and charges. Documents care, updates EMR records, and participates in training and supervision of new staff. Conducts pulmonary function tests, assists in cardio respiratory rehabilitation, and supports physicians with bronchoscopies and specialized procedures. Ensures equipment readiness, adherence to VAP bundles, and contributes to quality control, staffing, and competencies. Requires active Respiratory Care Practitioner license, BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications; NBRC-RRT or CRT preferred; represented by SEIU.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license: Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification: Required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification: Required
  • AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: Required
  • AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS: Required
  • AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS: Required
