Job Summary
Provide respiratory care through patient assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation. Monitor patient response to therapies and modify treatment based on clinical data. Serve as a preceptor to new team members and students. Act as the shift "Charge Therapist" by assigning staff, modifying assignments, and ensuring adequate coverage for patient care areas. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and evaluate plans of care while performing treatments according to physician orders. Set up and maintain respiratory therapy equipment and supplies. Maintain proper documentation, medical charting, and adherence to infection control standards. Educate patients and caregivers on cardiopulmonary diseases, oxygen therapy, and ventilator care. Respond to cardio-pulmonary resuscitations as indicated by clinical circumstances.
Required Qualifications
- Current Respiratory Care License in the state they are working
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialed
- Two years of experience as a Respiratory Care Professional
- Valid driver's license

- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- BLS Basic Life Support
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AAP/AWHONN
- Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT)
- Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT)
- ACCS (Adult Critical Care Specialist) - NBRC
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
