Respiratory Care Practitioner II - Kings Mills Hospital

Respiratory Care Practitioner II at Kings Mills Hospital leads and performs comprehensive respiratory care across assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation. Responsibilities include oxygen and aerosolized medication delivery, ventilator care, bronchial hygiene therapy, diagnostic services, and patient/family education. May serve as shift Charge Therapist, ensure staffing coverage, and assist physicians with procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, transtracheal catheter insertion, tracheostomy-related tasks). Provides CPR per AHA ACLS, monitors patient response, conducts treatments (IPPB, aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry, MDI with spacers), maintains oxygen therapy setups, and documents in patient records. May perform PFTs, ABG analysis, arterial punctures, EKGs, and monitor electronic patient data. Serves as a preceptor to new staff or students. Exhibits strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and time-management skills; demonstrates knowledge of non-invasive respiratory therapy equipment and various therapeutic procedures. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree preferred; licensure and NBRC credentialing required with additional certifications encouraged.
