Job Summary
Provide respiratory care to inpatients and outpatients in accordance with physician orders, clinical pathways, and medical direction. Perform patient assessments, diagnostic measurements including pulmonary function parameters and arterial blood gas acquisition, and therapeutic interventions for airway management and ventilation support. Prepare, calibrate, and maintain respiratory equipment while assisting with patient transport, documentation, and discharge planning. Support pulmonary diagnostics, rehabilitation, and EEG-related testing as assigned. Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation and participate in clinical rounds and emergency response teams. Requires current Maryland license, NBRC registration, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care Practitioner program
- Associate's degree
- Current active Maryland license
- NBRC registration
- Current CPR certification
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- ACLS certification obtained within six months of hire
- Pass hospital Arrhythmia test within three months
- Strong knowledge of respiratory anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic procedures
- Ability to use respiratory equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues
