Job Summary
Provide respiratory care to inpatients and outpatients in accordance with physician orders, clinical pathways, protocols, and medical direction. Perform diagnostic measurements and tests, including bedside pulmonary function parameters and arterial blood gas acquisition. Deliver therapeutic interventions related to airway management, secretion removal, oxygenation, and ventilation support. Prepare, calibrate, and maintain respiratory equipment and supplies. Assist with patient transport, documentation, discharge planning, and patient education. Participate in clinical rounds, emergency response teams, and other assigned hospital responsibilities. Support pulmonary diagnostics, pulmonary rehabilitation, and EEG-related testing as assigned. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and departmental records.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care Practitioner program
- Associate's degree
- Current active Maryland license
- NBRC registration
- Current CPR certification
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- ACLS certification obtained within six months of hire
- Pass hospital Arrhythmia test within three months
- Strong knowledge of respiratory anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic procedures
- Ability to use respiratory equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues
