Job Summary
Respiratory Care Practitioner I provides respiratory care to acutely ill patients across med/surg units, including adult therapies and modalities, ED and ICU as per hospital expectations. Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy, monitors and communicates patient condition, educates patients/families on respiratory disease management, and participates in multidisciplinary rounds. Precepts students and adheres to NorthWestern Medicine Code of Professionalism while following respiratory care policies and procedures. Requires: Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program; CRT or RRT; active or pending Illinois license; and BLS. Preferred: NRP, PALS, and ACLS.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Active or Pending Illinois Respiratory Care License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
