Job Summary

Deliver active respiratory treatments, manage ventilator care, and perform airway management including tracheal suctioning for residents with developmental disabilities. Assist with Activities of Daily Living, implement Individual Program Plans, and conduct assessments at admission and as needed. Monitor arterial blood gas results, administer prescribed medications, and respond effectively to medical or behavioral emergencies. Document all treatments, progress, and incidents in resident records while maintaining a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment. Perform light housekeeping, inspect fire safety, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care. Work standard 12-hour shifts with flexibility for overnight, weekends, and holidays in a residential care facility.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current Respiratory License/Credentials from an accredited body
  • California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a related role
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Proficiency in respiratory care methods, infection control, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer proficiency and ability to adapt to new software systems
  • Professional demeanor, empathy, confidentiality, and teamwork
  • Standard shifts are 12 hours
  • flexibility is required for overnight, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Primary work location is a residential care facility
  • Compliance with state regulations, vaccination requirements, and safety protocols is mandatory
  • sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform essential care functions
  • Duties may include: Standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
  • Occasional running, kneeling, or climbing
  • Operating motor vehicles and assistive equipment safely
  • Prolonged computer use or desk-based documentation
  • Attend a minimum of four (4) ICS meetings annually
  • Complete required continuing education units (CEUs) to maintain licensure
  • Participate in mandatory and ongoing training programs for skill enhancement
