Job Summary
Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician's orders, consulting on therapy effectiveness and acting as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing. Manage equipment usage for all appropriate respiratory care devices while providing critical care or general respiratory support. This flexible GIG position offers 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts in day or night rotations with no weekend or holiday requirements. Base rates are $30/hour for CRT and $35/hour for RRT, plus variable shift incentives. Candidates must hold a current RCP license and either RRT or CRT credentials from the NBRC, with PALS certification preferred for ER roles. Mercy Hospital Springfield and Joplin locations offer a supportive community with opportunities to pioneer new models of care through advanced technology and innovative procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program
- Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required
