Job Summary
Under the direction of the Manager for Respiratory Services the Respiratory Care Intern is responsible for maintaining adequate inventory levels for all equipment and supplies used by the department. This job will include removing small oxygen and air compressed cylinders and resupplying full tanks at the appropriate par levels in designated areas throughout the hospital. The role requires knowledge of compressed gas cylinders and respiratory equipment including mechanical ventilators, as well as Basic Life Support and Integrative Agitation Management within 30 days of hire. Ability to work with minimal supervision, strong communication and organizational skills, and manual dexterity to handle medical instrumentation are essential, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The position is part-time with day shifts, and is based in Greenbrae, CA at MarinHealth Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Current Respiratory Student of a Respiratory Program or graduate of a respiratory therapy program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire
- Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) required within 30 days of hire
- Knowledge of compressed gas cylinders
- Knowledge of respiratory equipment including mechanical ventilators
- Manual dexterity to handle medical instrumentation
- Ability to move and/or lift up to 50 lbs
