Job Summary

Clinical Educator for Respiratory Care develops and implements educational programs and resources to enhance the clinical performance of the Respiratory Care Department, ensuring compliance with AARC guidelines. Responsibilities include developing criteria-based tools to assess and improve clinical performance across ED, PICU, NICU, Medical-Surgical, and ground transport settings; creating and managing departmental learning materials; coordinating staff education on policies, procedures, and clinical resources to ensure competency and compliance; enhancing onboarding processes for new employees; collaborating with leadership on new service line opportunities; serving as the point of contact for educational programs and guiding rotating students; performing respiratory therapist duties as needed for training and departmental support; acting as a super user for departmental areas and equipment; participating in weekend on-call rotation and supporting nightshift education. Requires strong knowledge of pediatric respiratory care modalities, effective communication and leadership skills, and the ability to participate in on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Degree in Respiratory Care or related field required
  • Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Certified by the Tennessee State Board of Medical Examiners as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • PALS and NRP certification (or obtain within one year of hire)
  • Neonatal Pediatric Specialist certification within one year of hire
  • Basic life support
  • Minimum 2 years related experience
  • 1-year pediatric and Neonatal level III Respiratory Care experience
