Job Summary
Provide respiratory care as an RCA, including oxygen administration, suctioning, and obtaining/running ABG samples. Adheres to departmental safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements and annual equipment proficiency evaluations. Requires NCRCB RCA registration and BLS; advancement certification per facility. Enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care program (CoARC) with one year completed. Demonstrates organization, communication, problem solving, and age/developmental considerations for patient populations.
Required Qualifications
- Registered with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) as an RCA
- Basic Life Support for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association
- Advanced certification per facility/department
- High School diploma or GED
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care educational program approved by CoARC and completion of 1 year of such program
- Evidence of completed clinical competency evaluations through Respiratory Program (skills lab and didactics)
