Job Summary
Provide patient-centered respiratory care in an academic health system setting. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive respiratory assessments, developing and implementing evidence-based care plans, delivering therapeutic interventions, managing mechanical ventilation, administering oxygen and aerosolized medications, performing airway clearance techniques, providing invasive and non-invasive respiratory support, analyzing arterial blood gases, conducting pulmonary function and bedside diagnostic tests, and adjusting therapies per protocols. Contribute to clinical decision-making, participate in quality improvement initiatives, implement new technologies and best practices, document assessments and responses in the EMR, educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home therapies, and support safe transitions of care. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals across units, and may precept students or new team members.
