Resource Specialist I

Support District Forester with delivery of Field Operation programs by preparing tract and stand maps, collecting property and stand data, drafting management plans, and conducting conservation education. Serve as a wildland firefighter and emergency responder statewide, operating heavy firefighting equipment, performing ground reconnaissance, and responding to dispatchers within 30 minutes of alerts. Manage assigned credit cards, vehicles, and equipment while maintaining them in good working order. Meet and annually maintain a physical fitness standard including a two-mile walk with a 25-pound pack, carry a communication device for 24-hour availability, and operate computers for extended periods. Work long distances in harsh environmental conditions with exposure to noise, vibrations, and emotionally stressful situations.
