Job Summary
Provides respiratory therapy across inpatient settings, including ventilator management, pulmonary diagnostics, and related therapies. Performs chest radiographs review, analyzes hemodynamic values and blood gases, administers prescribed medications, and educates patients on therapy goals and self-management. Maintains and troubleshoots respiratory equipment, participates in safety and quality initiatives, collaborates with physicians and other disciplines, and mentors new teammates. Requires an associate degree in respiratory care, RCP licensure, NBRC credential (RRT/CRT), and BLS certification. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential; willingness to work in a hospital-wide respiratory therapy team.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, minimum of an associate degree
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state of practice
- Active NBRC credentials: either RRT or CRT (CRT acceptable if credential received prior to Jan 1, 2023)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA)
