Job Summary
Assess critically ill patients across CVICU, SICU, and MICU environments, prioritizing safety risks and abnormal data changes. Implement evidence-based nursing interventions, delegate tasks, and provide holistic education while documenting care in the electronic medical record. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams using SBAR handoffs, participate in care conferences, and evaluate care effectiveness against established standards. Mentor peers, lead performance improvement initiatives, and maintain competency through required ACLS certification and annual education.
Required Qualifications
- RN
- BSN
- Ohio licensure to practice nursing
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- 75% participation in staff meetings
- 75% participation in council meetings
- 100% on-time completion and attendance for annual education day
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty expected within five years of eligibility
Desired Qualifications

- Membership in professional organizations
- Certification specific to work area of professional practice when eligible
