Job Summary
Assess critically ill patients across CVICU, SICU, and MICU environments, prioritizing safety risks and abnormal data changes. Implement evidence-based nursing interventions, including discharge planning and multidisciplinary care conferences, while documenting holistic assessments in the electronic medical record. Mentor peers, participate in unit-based performance improvement projects, and maintain competency through required ACLS and BLS certifications. Support patient and family-centered care models through continuous evaluation of outcomes and adherence to professional ethics.
Required Qualifications
- RN
- BSN
- current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- experience caring for critically ill patients
- comfortable floating between multiple ICU environments
- ability to accept and implement change
- ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
- 75% participation in staff meetings
- 75% participation in council meetings
- participation in unit based activities/initiatives for performance improvement, evidence based projects, and research
- participation in council activities and task forces to improve competencies
- participation in self and peer review activities
- acts as a resource, educator and preceptor for multidisciplinary team members, staff and nursing students
- maintains competency in POC (point of care) testing
- 100% on-time completion and attendance for annual education day
- compliance with organization and department policies and required training
- completes all educational requirements to maintain competency related to specific population of patient and/or regulatory agencies
Desired Qualifications
