Job Summary
Assess patient physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs while recognizing abnormal data and reporting changes to physicians. Implement evidence-based care by performing delegated actions, providing holistic education, and responding to emergency situations with precision. Evaluate nursing interventions against established standards and adjust plans based on patient response, ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. Maintain competency through 75% participation in staff and council meetings, unit-based performance improvement projects, and peer review activities. Adhere to Ohio Nurse Practice Act and American Nursing Association ethics while completing required BLS certification and annual education.
Required Qualifications
- RN licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BSN within 5 years of hire date (for nurses hired after January 2010)
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
