Job Summary
Conduct holistic assessments of patient physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs while identifying safety risks and reporting abnormal data to physicians. Develop and prioritize individualized plans of care, communicate goals using SBAR, and implement evidence-based interventions including discharge planning and multidisciplinary referrals. Provide ongoing patient and family education, respond to emergency situations with precision, and evaluate care effectiveness against established standards. Document all nursing processes accurately in the electronic medical record and participate in staff meetings, council activities, and performance improvement projects. Mentor peers, precept nursing students, and maintain competency through required BLS certification and annual education.
Required Qualifications
- RN licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BSN within 5 years of hire date (for nurses hired after January 2010)
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- Certification specific to work area of professional practice when eligible
- Membership in professional organizations

- Participation in chosen professional organizations and conferences
