Job Summary
Conduct holistic assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs using The Christ Hospital Professional Practice Model. Develop and prioritize individualized plans of care with measurable goals, communicating updates via SBAR and handoff processes. Implement evidence-based interventions, delegate tasks appropriately, and provide ongoing patient and family education. Evaluate care effectiveness against established standards, adjust plans based on patient response, and document all activities accurately in the electronic medical record. Maintain competency in point-of-care testing and participate in staff meetings, council activities, and performance improvement projects. Mentor peers, precept students, and contribute to professional development initiatives while adhering to all hospital policies and continuing education requirements.
Required Qualifications
- RN licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BSN within 5 years of hire date (for nurses hired after January 2010)
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- Certification specific to work area of professional practice
- Membership in professional organizations
